After the rush of Pie Day on June 15th, I can begin working on dolls/puppets again.
I want to create a doll of my mother as she lay, after her death.
On the farm when we bury a creature, I take a lot of time to place the body in the grave, select tokens for it's journey, brush them, cover their eyes, etc. I have thought a lot about my mother's body in the hospital bed after she died. I know they cared for her, but I wonder if anyone tidied her hair. I guess it is an image that seems to keep coming back to me, so I will give her a proper send off through my own hands, with my dolls.
